Dr. Holly

is one of North America’s leading sex therapists, serving women, men, couples and gender-diverse individuals for relationship and sexuality issues. She counsels a broad range of clients including Hollywood’s elite and prominent corporate clientele, and offers consultation services with psychotherapy interns and other therapists. Dr. Richmond works from a sex positive approach, meaning: “all sex is good sex as long as it’s consensual and pleasurable.” She is committed to helping her clients feel better—mind and body—not just behave differently.
Her therapeutic relationships are built on strong rapport, trust, non-judgment and acceptance, though she is directive and results oriented, not simply supportive. Her objective is to help clients meet their goals and move through the therapy process as quickly as possible.

Dr. Holly’s book, Reclaiming Pleasure: A Sex-Positive Guide for Moving Past Sexual Trauma and Living a Passionate Life (New Harbinger, Oct. 2021) is a groundbreaking examination of both somatic and psychological factors in survivor’s’ recovery.

A trusted authority on sexual health issues with a significant media following

Dr. Holly has been quoted in publications and media outlets including The New York Times, Prevention, CNN, Shape, Health, Forbes, Wired, NBC, A Current Affair, Men’s Health, Cosmopolitan, and Women’s Health. She is also a recognized writer and media specialist, with over 500 published works since beginning her career in journalism in 1994.
Dr. Richmond is a sought-after consultant in the sextech industry and is seen as a pioneer in bridging the gap between sexual health education and adult entertainment. Dr. Richmond’s experiential, therapeutically-driven perspective legitimatizes, normalizes, demystifies and removes pathological ideology from today’s most common sexual concerns.

As the go-to voice in answering, “What’s next for sex?” she is a reliable and relatable source when considering the future of sex. Her work through the ‘Next-Sex’ platform is an exploration of the context of emerging technology on sexuality, and how to positively influence both sexual and technological development. This is also the subject of a forthcoming book—the culmination of her extensive research and involvement in the sex/tech field. The Next-Sex platform promises to become a valuable tool for trend forecasting in this multi-billion-dollar industry.

Each interlinked facet of Dr. Richmond’s work is grounded in her somatic, sex-positive approach, allowing her to assist clients in discovering their true needs, desires and personal path to wellness. Dedicated to her clients’ total well-being, Dr. Richmond frequently utilizes collateral resources, allowing for a holistic approach to individual, relational and sexual health.
